Prior to opening her own public training stable, Joan Scott compiled a long list of accomplishments achieved during a long career in the thoroughbred industry -
"I’ve galloped for and worked as assistant to trainers in California, New York, Maryland, Louisiana, Kentucky, Florida and Illinois. I’ve worked for such trainers as Hall of Famer Bud Delp, Elliott Walden, Carl Nafzger, Troy Young (winner of the premier Claiming Crown), Dicky Small, Al Stall, and Hal Wiggins."
"I worked for Chris Speckert while horses such as Pleasant Tap, Pleasant Stage, and Another Review were in his shed. I was the Kentucky based assistant to Nick Zito solely responsible for the preparation and racing of a string of horses owned by Whitney Stable."
"I was a business partner in Kenneally Racing Stable, and while in that position, conditioned and saddled many winners in Kentucky, Illinois, and Louisiana. I’ve traveled throughout the United States to saddle horses in Stakes races from Oklahoma to New Jersey."
"I have had a well-rounded education that also includes assisting veterinarians, and doing billing, payroll, and bookkeeping. I’ve worked at sales including the Keeneland (Kentucky), Newmarket (England), and Deauville (France) yearling sales. I’ve worked on farms exercising and breaking horses in both the U.S. and Europe, including Juddmonte Farm, Fares Farm, Ashleigh Stud, Stone Farm, Stowell Hill Farm in Somerset, England, and Haras du Quesnay in Deauville, France."
"I started my own racing stable in 2002 and I have been privileged to train many quality horses for some wonderful clients. Please continue to browse our web site to see the latest news and results for Joan Scott Racing Stable."
